Kate Penoyre

Kate studied Graphic Design at Canterbury College of Art and then worked in book publishing as an illustrator and designer.  She has painted and drawn all her life and now she works in her converted cow shed studio in the High Weald in East Sussex. The pictures Kate makes are about places and the mood created by changing light and weather. She likes to depict a sense of the fleeting moment and of open air, exploring the boundaries between realism and abstraction.
