Kaija Bulbrook

Kaija studied at Kingston College of Art and is a member of the of the Society of Women Artists.

Her primary interest is in the play of colours, shapes and textures and their relationship to each other. The painting is an end in itself and the subject matter is of secondary importance. Interpretation of Kaija's very individual paintings is subjective. It is the balance of composition, colour, line and tone that drives her in the development of her work and is more important than the starting point . This very personal approach culminates in atmospheric paintings of intriguing forms in subtle hues contrasted by touches of bright colour which make the works sing.
